LES FEUX ARCTIQUES - NEW WAY TO LEARN

ABSTRACT

The educational institutions of the Institute for Northern Culture have created project paedagogics 
that involves three levels of education. Learning while producing a 45-minute historical documentary 
film, one result of this project paedagogics, is presented.

Professor Pentikäinen gives a new view of arctic cinema in relation to northern ethnography, 
Timo Puukko presents teaching aspects in this kind of work, and the producer Matti Malinen and 
director Gretta-Garoliina Sammalniemi present new ways to learn in the arctic area.
